With a background in chemical engineering, Ahmed Kassim brings a unique insight to his litigation practice. As counsel to Porzio he concentrates his practice in the areas of products liability, pharmaceutical, medical device and mass tort litigation.
Mr. Kassim represents a variety of product manufacturers, including leading pharmaceutical, chemical, telecommunications, and industrial companies in mass tort and individual cases. He is a skilled litigator, adept at large-scale discovery management and trial preparation. Mr. Kassim has served as regional counsel for a global Fortune 100 telecommunications provider and equipment manufacturer, working closely with the clients and national counsel on strategy and early resolution.
Mr. Kassim's prior role as a chemical engineer with BASF and as a research assistant for the National Institutes of Health, provides him with a technical expertise in specialty chemical manufacturing, refinery process design and cellular biological research. This experience gives him a distinctive comprehension of the complex scientific and medical issues related to his practice.
Recognizing the need to give back to the community, Mr. Kassim has maintained an active pro bono practice that has included representing: a Chinese family seeking asylum; defendants in post-conviction criminal proceedings; and, most recently, plaintiffs alleging that their constitutional rights were violated during an arrest.
