Porzio Promotes One Attorney to Principal and Four Attorneys to Counsel

Porzio, Bromberg & Newman P.C. (Porzio) is pleased to announce the promotions of Christine N. Bradshaw to principal and Phillip C. Bauknight, Michelle M. Burke, Jonathan B. King and Michael J. Naporano  to counsel.  The promotions are effective July 1, 2015.

 

Bradshaw, ChrissyChrissy Bradshaw joined Porzio as an associate in 2007.  As a member of the firm's Life Sciences Practice Group, she counsels pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology companies on issues related to state marketing disclosures and gift prohibition laws and state and federal regulation of the distribution of trade and sample product including PDMA, licensing, and pedigree issues.  She has drafted numerous compliance-related corporate policies and SOPs for pharmaceutical and medical device companies, including SOPs governing interactions with healthcare practitioners, tracking and disclosing aggregate spend, reporting of thefts and losses, and performing inventories and reconciliations.  In addition to her new role as principal within Porzio, Chrissy will continue to serve as Vice President of the firm's subsidiary, Porzio Life Sciences, LLC.

Chrissy received her J.D. cum laude from the American University Washington College of Law in 2006, where she also served as Publications Editor for the American University Journal of Gender, Social Policy & the Law and was a student attorney in the Federal Tax Clinic.  She earned a B.A. in Environmental Sciences and Policy and minors in French and Economics from Duke University.  Chrissy is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and is based in the firm's Morristown, New Jersey Office.

Bauknight, PhillipPhil Bauknight has served as an associate in the firm's Litigation Practice Group since joining the firm in 2008.  Phil specializes in employment and labor law, franchise litigation, commercial litigation and education law matters.  His practice includes representation of franchisors in various contexts, including analysis of state and federal franchise laws, relationship laws, distribution, and breach of contract claims. Phil handles franchise, employment, commercial, and education law matters in various federal, state, and administrative courts and has experience in both state and federal appellate courts.  Additionally he handles traditional labor matters, such as representing employers and providing counsel to private companies, schools and governmental bodies on general business issues.

Phil received his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law in 2008, where he served as a member of the Moot Court Board.  He earned a B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University, Rutgers College New Brunswick in 2005.  While at Rutgers, Phil was an active member of the Psi Chi National Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, as well as a James D. Carr Scholar.  Phil is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York and the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, and is based in the firm's Morristown, New Jersey Office.

Burke, MichelleMichelle Burke has served as an associate in Porzio's Litigation Practice Group since joining the firm in 2008.   She serves as both primary and local defense counsel and manages a large docket of products liability, toxic tort, commercial and general civil litigations.  She is adept at developing defense strategies, coordinating all aspects of discovery, and drawing on her prior experience as a law clerk to craft successful dispositive motions.  Michelle  also dedicates substantial time to her pro bono clients, and has successfully tried domestic violence and landlord tenant matters.  

Michelle received her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 2005, where she was on the Dean's List and received the Lampe Public Service Award.  She earned a B.A. in Economics and Labor Studies from Rutgers University, Rutgers College New Brunswick, where she was also on the Dean's List and the recipient of both the UNICO Scholarship and the NIAWA Scholarship.  Michelle is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, and is based in the firm's Morristown, New Jersey Office.

King, JonathanJonathan King has served as an associate in Porzio's Real Estate Practice Group since joining the firm in 2014.  Jonathan’s practice involves commercial real estate with an emphasis in commercial leasing. He frequently represents landlords, tenants and subtenants in the negotiation and preparation of leases, subleases, licenses and ancillary documentation relating to properties in the New Jersey and New York areas.  Jonathan also advises financial institutions, investors, borrowers, lenders and loan purchasers in matters regarding construction loans, acquisition loans, discounted loan remedies and refinance.  In addition, he counsels purchasers and sellers in transactions concerning residential real estate and entity assets.

Jonathan received his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law in 2008, where he also served as the Senior Articles Editor of the Rutgers Law Review.  He also holds a B.A. in History from Duke University.  Jonathan is a member of the New Jersey and New York bar associations, and is based in Porzio's Morristown, New Jersey location.

Naporano, MichaelMike Naporano has served as an associate in the firm's Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Practice Group since rejoining the firm in 2010.  Mike’s practice includes advising clients on corporate matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions and general corporate governance.  He has also represented creditors, debtors and trustees in the areas of commercial bankruptcies, workouts, and financial reorganizations.  Mike advises privately held companies, private equity funds, institutional investors and family offices on a variety of transactions including stock and asset acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, and capital and credit financings.  He has represented buyers and sellers in stock and asset purchase transactions ranging from US$1 million to US$450.

Mike received his J.D. cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2008.  While at Seton Hall, he served as the Senior Editor of the Seton Hall Law Review and was named the Best Petitioner Brief of the 2007 Gressman Moot Court Competition.  Mike is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York and the United States District Court, Southern District of New York.  He is based in Porzio's Morristown, New Jersey and New York City locations.
