Porzio principal, Roy Alan Cohen, was elected to serve as Vice-Chair of the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section ("TIPS") of the American Bar Association beginning at the ABA Annual Meeting in August 2016. Following his year as Vice-Chair, Mr. Cohen will serve as Chair-Elect, and then as Chair of the organization from August 2018 to August 2019.
TIPS is the leading source of leadership and knowledge on trial practice and critical issues of justice that involve tort, trial, and insurance law in the U.S. This network unites plaintiff, defense, insurance, and corporate counsel to advance the civil justice system. At the heart of TIPS are 31 substantive committees that produce nationally recognized continuing legal education programs and publications, and engage in thought leadership in its areas of practice.
Mr. Cohen has been a member of TIPS since 1989, and is a past chair of its Commercial Transportation Litigation Committee, Self Insurers and Risk Managers Committee, and Products, General Liability & Consumer Law Committee. He has been co-chair of national programs, and co-chair of the nationally acclaimed Transportation Megaconference program, held in New Orleans biennially since 1993.
