David P. Nelson is a member of the firm's Wealth Preservation group. He counsels clients on asset protection, and drafts wills, trusts, and other estate planning instruments for high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners.
David also provides advice in all manner of probate matters, including will contests, guardianship hearings, trust disputes, and exploring resolution options.
Prior to joining Porzio, he was the Special Deputy Surrogate for the Morris County Surrogate Court in Morristown, New Jersey. David was also a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Stephen J. Taylor, P.J.Cr., of Morris/Sussex Vicinage, New Jersey.
While attending law school at Rutgers School of Law - Newark, he was the Co-founder and Vice President of the National Security Law Society/Transportation Trade and Security Society. Beforehand, David served in the United States Army for 10 years holding positions in operations, logistics, and as Rifle Platoon Leader, with the Army and Army National Guard.
