Life Sciences Associate

Porzio offers a dynamic life sciences legal and compliance practice with a unique platform for continued growth.   We are looking for candidates passionate about working in life sciences to join our growing team.  Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, a 90+ lawyer firm seeks two associates to join its growing Life Sciences team. The ideal candidate will have experience (or a demonstrated interest) in the life sciences industry or a background in healthcare compliance, or a related area.  


The Life Sciences Associate will be working with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device and other life sciences companies of all sizes at different stages to: 

  • Assist in day-to-day legal and healthcare compliance counseling related to the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act, Prescription Drug Marketing Act, the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, data privacy laws, transparency and disclosures, , as well as other state, local and international  laws and codes impacting the life sciences industry.  
  • Conduct compliance assessments and develop healthcare compliance programs, including the preparation of policies, procedures and guidance documents, as well as prepare and participate in trainings.  
  • Assist with monitoring and auditing activities to detect potential non-compliance.
  • Participate in client review committees such as promotional materials review committees, grants committees or other committees to advise on legal matters.
  • Review and advise on contracts, prepare legal memoranda and other documents; attend client meetings, and render such other services and duties as the Firm will, from time to time, determine. 
  • Perform research activities and other requested services for Firm subsidiary, Porzio Life Sciences.  These include review of state law requirements regarding drug and device distribution, transparency reporting and gift limitations, and state specific regulation of healthcare practitioner prescribing ability.
