Porzio Business Owners Symposium Series: Changes Affecting Business Utilization of Independent Contractors
Porzio and The Alternative Board of North Central New Jersey (TABNJ) hosted the second seminar of the Business Owners Symposium Series (BOSS) on April 15, 2016 at Porzio's offices in Morristown, New Jersey. The seminar, "Changes Affecting Business Utilization of Independent Contractors," was led by Porzio principal Kerri Wright.
The program provided attendees with the latest developments in New Jersey employment law as it relates to the utilization of independent contractors, outlining the difference between an employee and an independent contractor. (Hint: They are almost always employees.) Attendees performed a risk assessment of their contractual relationship with customers and vendors.
