Porzio Assists Pittsgrove Board of Education in District Merger Negotiations
Porzio client Pittsgrove Board of Education was mentioned in the NJ.com editorial, "N.J. School District Merger Sets Good Example," on August 6, 2017.
Serving as general counsel to the Pittsgrove Board of Education, Porzio Principal Kerri A. Wright represented Pittsgrove in negotiations with the New Jersey Department of Education and the Elmer Board of Education, in connection with the DOE's efforts to consolidate the two school districts. The process spanned the course of several years. As of August 1, 2017, the Elmer Board of Education was eliminated and consolidated into the Pittsgrove Board of Education. The transition has been smooth and successful for the students of these two communities.

The team has participated in almost every significant case over the past 20 years involving the reconfiguration of school districts in the State of New Jersey, including handling the only three regional school district dissolutions in state history and now the successful and amicable consolidation of two school districts.
