Porzio Welcomes Joseph Giordano to the Firm as Counsel in Morristown

Porzio, Bromberg & Newman P.C. ("Porzio") is pleased to announce that Joseph Giordano has joined as Counsel on the Litigation Team in the Morristown office. Giordano focuses his practice on employment, white-collar defense, and litigation.  

Prior to joining Porzio, Giordano was with the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, where he served as Assistant Prosecutor in the Cyber & Financial Crimes Unit, the Adult Trial Division, and Special Prosecutions. Most recently, Joe served as Supervising Attorney in the Special Prosecutions Bureau, where he was responsible for investigating and prosecuting carjackings, organized crime, and gun violence. He also provided round-the-clock counsel to over 25 law enforcement agencies within Essex County, New Jersey, as well as neighboring jurisdictions at the State and Federal levels.

He has significant litigation and trial experience, focusing on investigating and prosecuting a wide-variety of criminal incidents. He maintained a docket of complex litigation and high-profile cases and litigated matters involving weapons trafficking, network intrusions, unauthorized access, carjackings, complex fraud, cryptocurrency, gun violence, and homicides. He also developed a prosecution strategy relying primarily on digital evidence and forensics to prove his cases, including computer and cell phone analytics, cell tower and GPS location information, and the use of social media. 

Giordano also acted as a liaison for all threats to critical infrastructure, including Newark-Liberty International Airport, Newark-Penn Station, Rutgers-Newark, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and schools, corporate, and religious institutions within the county. In this role, he provided emergent legal advice identifying and evaluating threats as they arose and provided guidance on best practices and protocols in preventing future incidents.

Giordano received his Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers in 2006 and his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2011. He is admitted in New Jersey, New York, and U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey.
