Porzio, Bromberg & Newman Achieves Midsize Mansfield Certification
MORRISTOWN, NJ—October 10, 2023– Porzio, Bromberg & Newman proudly announces that it has achieved Midsize Mansfield Certification. Porzio is one of 240 firms in the 2022-2023 cohort throughout the U.S. and Canada to have completed a rigorous collaboration with Diversity Lab to track, measure, and achieve diversity in leadership.
Building on the success of the original Mansfield Rule for larger law firms, the Midsize Mansfield Certification was tailored and launched for firms with fewer than 150 lawyers. In achieving certification, Porzio has affirmatively considered at least 30% women lawyers, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitches, lateral lawyer hiring, and more. The goal of the Mansfield Rule is to boost the representation of diverse lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these roles and opportunities.
“I am incredibly proud to announce that we have achieved Midsize Mansfield Certification,” said Managing Principal Vito A. Gagliardi, Jr. “We believe that diversity empowers us and provides competitive strength. We have made it our goal to weave diversity and inclusion into all aspects of our firm, as varied perspectives lead to better decisions for the firm and for our clients. This certification is a testament to our ongoing intentional and transparent processes that are consistent with our long-standing efforts to serve the best interests of our clients by serving the best interests of our people.”
“The Mansfield Rule has been a guiding principle for Porzio’s commitment to diversity and inclusion,” said Lisa N. Brown, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. “We hire individuals with different approaches, life experiences and perceptions because we believe that diversity enriches our understanding, creativity and insight. We are proud to be a firm committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all attorneys can thrive”
