Litigation

General Liability

Porzio is one of the region’s leading firms in general liability and personal injury defense. Few firms can match Porzio’s litigation expertise. Few can match our depth of trial experience. Few can match our case management skills in complex and smaller cases alike. Our goal is simple—achieve a cost effective and efficient resolution for our clients. This is the core of our practice and what makes Porzio, Porzio.

What We Do

We are trial attorneys and litigators. At the outset of a claim, we investigate and gather as much information as possible to determine the feasibility of an early resolution. When the case must be litigated, we collaborate with our client to develop a defense strategy to attack the plaintiff’s liability and damages claims. We aggressively pursue discovery with a results-oriented approach, mindful that a cost-effective resolution is in our client’s best interests.

Our Litigation Practice Group defends companies against many types of claims, including:

  • Personal injury
  • Property damage
  • Construction defect
  • Premises liability
  • Elevator maintenance and defect
  • Breach of contract
  • Consumer Fraud

Who We Serve

We primarily serve self-insured companies, including product manufacturers and designers, construction companies, property owners, and insurance groups. Many of our clients come to us with their most difficult and potentially catastrophic cases.

Why Our Clients Hire Us

Here are just a few of the ways that Porzio’s Litigation Practice Group distinguishes itself, and why its clients hire us again and again.

  • Litigation attorneys—Since its founding, Porzio attorneys have distinguished themselves as defense litigators, a reputation that continues today and is one of our core strengths.
  • Trial Experience—The firm has many seasoned trial lawyers, some of whom are certified civil trial attorneys by the New Jersey Supreme Court. Our trial attorneys are members of such prestigious organizations as the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Association of Defense Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute.
  • Efficiency—As we have handled complex cases for decades, we have developed a number of systems to process such cases very efficiently, including the use of technology, and the effective use of paralegals to reduce costs whenever possible.
