Legal Assistant
Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. ("Porzio"), is a highly-respected, well-established and expanding law firm with two subsidiary companies and offices in NJ, NY, MA, DE, PA, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. We seek a skilled, highly organized, full-time Legal Assistant for our New York City office, with four years or more of administrative/office experience, to assist attorneys with various administrative matters.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Draft engagement letters and open files for new clients and matters.
- Manage monthly legal billing, including sending out invoices, collection follow up and interacting with the Financial Services Department.
- Communications with client, including via telephone and email.
- Calendaring and setting up meetings including teleconferencing and videoconferencing.
- Submitting monthly attorney expense reports.
- Tracking and maintaining attorney bar registrations and CLE credits.
- Formatting external communications to be sent via letter or email.
- Registering attorneys for seminars and coordinating travel arrangements if needed.
- Ordering client gifts.
- Provide assistance to paralegals, other legal assistants, as needed.
- General office duties, such as opening mail, printing, scanning, copying and organizing/saving documents.
- Other assignments as assigned depending upon skill set and/or desire to broaden existing skill set.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Office Suite, Microsoft Teams and Zoom and DocuSign. Experience with iManage a plus.
- Proficient in computers/computer software/technology, generally.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to perform job duties independently, proactively, accurately, efficiently and timely.
- Attention to detail and follow-up.
- Exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills.
