David Disler Recognized as New Leaders of the Bar by New Jersey Law Journal
David Disler, a counsel in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group and a member of the Education and Employment Team, has been named to the New Jersey Law Journal’s 2025 New Leaders of the Bar. Disler is one of only twenty-two attorneys in the State to receive this honor. The New Jersey Law Journal’s New Leaders of the Bar list highlights attorneys yet to reach the age of 40 who bring both notable achievements and outstanding potential to the legal profession.
Disler’s practice spans education and employment law, where he is valued as a trusted advisor to both public and private sector clients. In the field of education law, he services as counsel to school boards across New Jersey, advising on matters that profoundly impact students, educators, and local communities. This includes partnering with school boards on all aspects of governance, including personnel issues, student discipline, labor relations, and board-community engagement. As part of this representation, he represents clients in high-stakes hearings and arbitrations. Disler is deeply committed to the practice of education law. He currently serves as Vice President of the New Jersey Association of School Attorneys, where he helps advance the profession statewide. He also is a sought-after speaker, having presented at the New Jersey School Boards Association’s School Law Forum, the New Jersey School Boards Association’s annual conference, the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials’ annual conference, and before the New Jersey Superintendents’ Study Council.
In the area of employment law, Disler counsels employers navigating the ever-evolving legal landscapes. He provides strategic counsel on compliance with laws such as the ADA, FMLA, NJFLA, and wage and hour regulations. He is particularly active in educating employers about emerging legal risks – offering trainings on topics ranging from AI in the workplace to expanded sick leave – and preparing essential documents like contracts, severance agreements, and collective bargaining agreements with precision and foresight.
Beyond client work, Disler is a frequent contributor to leading publications, including the New Jersey Lawyer, the New Jersey Law Journal, and the School Leader Magazine. For eight years, he served as a coordinator of the Vincent J. Apruzzese High School Mock Trial Competition in Morris County, a program sponsored by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation. Through this role, he helped provide high school students with meaningful opportunities to engage with the legal system, develop advocacy skills, and gain confidence in public speaking. His dedication to mentoring the next generation reflects his belief in the importance of civic education and community involvement.
The New Leaders of the Bar award highlights attorneys who have distinguished themselves early in their careers while demonstrating the skills and vision to help shape the future of the profession.
The 2025 New Jersey Legal Awards honorees will be celebrated at a dinner on October 30 at The Westin Governor Morris in Morristown.
