11/02/2026

Two leaders within Porzio, Bromberg & Newman’s litigation practices, Vito A. Gagliardi, Jr. and William A. Krais, have been reappointed to the New Jersey State Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) for the 2026–2027 term. Gagliardi serves as the firm’s Managing Principal and Co-Chair of the Litigation Practice Group, while Krais chairs the Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Group.

The reappointments reflect Gagliardi and Krais’s longstanding involvement in trial practice and the depth of experience they bring to their respective areas of litigation. Both are Certified Civil Trial Attorneys whose practices span distinct areas of litigation. Gagliardi has argued precedent-setting cases before the New Jersey Supreme Court and represents educational institutions and businesses in complex litigation and employment matters, while Krais focuses on personal injury and medical malpractice matters through trial and appeal.

Gagliardi and Krais have been Fellows of ACTL since 2023. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation to accomplished trial lawyers in the United States and Canada who demonstrate high standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism and collegiality. Membership is limited to no more than one percent of the lawyer population in any state or province.

Through their continued service on the New Jersey State Committee, Gagliardi and Krais will contribute to the College’s work at the state level, including the identification and nomination of prospective Fellows, while supporting its broader mission of advancing excellence in trial practice and the administration of justice.

Their continued service on the State Committee reinforces Gagliardi and Krais’s commitment to the trial bar and to advancing the standards of excellence, professionalism and integrity that define the College.
