Overview

Andrew Lawson provides legal counsel in trust and estate litigation, estate planning and administration, and tax planning matters where he guides individuals, families, business owners, and fiduciaries through the full lifecycle of personal, business, and fiduciary legal needs. His multidisciplinary mindset informs his comprehensive approach to client service.

As a litigator, Andrew has been involved in all aspects of fiduciary litigation proceedings and settlement negotiations. Specifically, Andrew represents clients in estate and trust disputes ranging from undue influence claims and will contests to multimillion dollar trust litigation matters. He offers a distinct perspective with his understanding of the highly technical aspects of estate and tax planning coupled with his litigation experience in both federal and state courts.

As a planner and strategic advisor, Andrew advises clients on estate and wealth planning matters, including lifetime gifting, multigenerational planning, business succession planning, and the use of advanced trust structures to achieve tax-efficient and asset-protective outcomes. His tax practice spans federal, state, and local levels, where he represents individuals and businesses before the IRS and state taxing authorities and has successfully guided clients through audits, appeals, and tax disputes.

Prior to joining Porzio, Andrew led a team at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Ernst & Young LLP, where he advised clients across industry sectors on federal, state, and local tax controversy and planning strategies.
