Congratulations to Principal Deirdre Wheatley-Liss for Being Named by NJBIZ as a 2022 Leaders in the Law Honoree

5/24/2022

Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. ("Porzio") is proud to announce principal Deirdre R. Wheatley-Liss was named as NJBIZ 2022 Leaders in the Law honoree.
Deidre R. Wheatley-Liss is a principal of Porzio and a member of the firm's Wealth Preservation Department, focusing her practice on estate planning and administration, business planning, taxation, and elder law. Ms. Wheatley-Liss is a frequent lecturer and author of numerous legal and consumer-oriented articles.
Ms. Wheatley-Liss' continuous pursuit of knowledge distinguishes her from other practitioners in her fields. She has an LL.M in Taxation, and is also accredited as a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, designated by the American Bar Association. She is one of fewer than 100 attorneys in New Jersey with this credential. Through continuous legal and business education, she hones her knowledge to share "best practice" strategies with her clients.

Her passion for helping businesses is what Ms. Wheatley-Liss credits for her success. In an interview with NJBiz, she said, "As a "concierge lawyer," I empower business owners to leverage laws to protect their wealth and businesses from uncertainties and maximize business transactions by minimizing taxes, risk, and compliance costs. I am honored to partner on the journey from startup, through growth, to eventual exit and succession. As a tax attorney, I mitigate the role of their silent partner—the IRS. They have one business, and I have represented hundreds. I leverage my experience to create tailored legal structures as the foundation for a client's legacy, address immediate legal needs, and offer practical solutions to business issues."

NJBIZ explains the selection process starts with an open nomination period, after which honorees are chosen by a panel of independent judges with experience in the justice system. "The selections were based on legal professionals — lawyers and general counsels — whose dedication to their occupation and their communities is outstanding."  A celebration showcasing these professionals took place on May 24 at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset. A description of the selection process may be accessed here.
