Porzio Welcomes Associate Michael L. Ihrig to the Litigation Team
Porzio's Litigation Practice Group is proud to welcome associate Michael L. Ihrig. An experienced litigator, Michael's cases have ranged throughout various industries.
Prior to joining Porzio, he served as lead attorney for a New York municipality in an insurance coverage dispute over employee theft. As such, he managed case files from inception to completion by composing coverage opinions and reports, drafting pleadings, researching and writing motions, propounding and responding to discovery, taking depositions and participating in settlement negotiations.
Michael assisted with pretrial motions and litigation preparation for mass torts cases involving various drugs. He researched, outlined and drafted an appellate brief in response to a motion to dismiss by a pharmaceutical company on the grounds of forum non conveniens, as well as responses to Amicus Briefs.
He has litigated every aspect of complex product liability cases from inception to trial and/or settlement, including sitting as second-chair in a tire defect case that resulted in a verdict of over $4.3 million.
His experience also ranges into the sports and entertainment industry, as he previously recruited and signed basketball players to international contracts. While attending law school, Michael founded and served as President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society of Duquesne University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude.
