Managing Principal Vito A. Gagliardi, Jr. Quoted by Pascack Press on School District's Funding Formula Dispute
Porzio managing principal Vito A. Gagliardi, Jr. was quoted in the Pascack Press article, "Pascack Valley School Funding Dispute May Go Before Supreme Court of New Jersey," by Mike Montemarano and Tom Clancey, on August 11, 2017.
The article addresses the July 2017 state appellate court ruling allowing for the Borough of Woodcliff Lake to hold a referendum asking voters if the borough should withdraw from the Pascack Valley Regional High School District. Two communities within the school district – River Vale and Hillsdale – have declared intentions to challenge the ruling in the Supreme Court of New Jersey.
Mr. Gagliardi represents Woodcliff Lake in the dispute. He stated, “All River Vale is fighting to prevent is people, whose children attend schools, from voting on the future of those schools... The current funding formula is grossly disproportionate, and it’s not the way it was intended.”
Mr. Gagliardi is co-chair of Porzio's Education and Employment Department, which represents approximately 50 public and private schools and a number of school districts throughout New Jersey in a wide variety of matters.
