Porzio Expands DC Office with Addition of FDA Counsel, Carolina Wirth
Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. (Porzio) is pleased to announce that Carolina M. Wirth has joined as Counsel in the firm's DC office. Wirth concentrates her practice in matters involving products and companies subject to FDA regulation in the life sciences industry.
Prior to joining Porzio, Wirth held positions at the FDA, and as an in-house lawyer at a biotechnology company. Most recently, Wirth was at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, working with domestic and international companies to prepare FDA submissions, and assist on regulatory and compliance issues associated with labeling, packaging, and advertising of foods, medical devices, over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, cosmetics, and dietary supplements. Wirth also has experience responding to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Better Business Bureau National Advertising Division (NAD) inquiries on behalf of her clients.
"Carolina's experience handling complex regulatory issues for companies in the life sciences industry is an outstanding fit for our firm," said Kevin Bell, Porzio’s Regional Managing Principal of the DC office. "She's an excellent addition to our growing DC office and her practice will be an excellent benefit to our client across the firm and our subsidiary companies."
Wirth received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law and her B.S. from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She was recognized as a 2016 and 2017 Washington, D.C. "Rising Star" in the area of Food and Drugs by Super Lawyers magazine and recently nominated for a seat on the D.C. Bar Board of Governors. She is admitted in the District of Columbia and New York.
Porzio's DC office has grown significantly since opening its doors in 2014, with a 35% increase in revenue as reported in April 2017 by the National Law Journal. The office now includes 8 lawyers, who focused primarily on intellectual property matters in the nutraceutical industry.
