Michelle Burke Tries Case to Favorable Verdict

7/25/2019

On July 25, 2019, Porzio litigation attorney Michelle Molinaro Burke successfully defended two trucking clients and their employee in a four-day jury trial before Judge Kim Gibson in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

This matter involved a high-speed accident involving two tractor-trailers on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Plaintiff claimed to have sustained significant personal injuries that required multiple surgeries and left him completely unable to return to work. While Plaintiff presented proof of losses in the six-figure range for past and future wages, medical expenses, and pain and suffering, the jury ultimately found Plaintiff to be 50% responsible for the accident. The jury declined to award Plaintiff for any damages for pain and suffering and awarded only $25,000 to compensate for alleged economic losses.

Ms. Burke served as lead trial counsel, and was assisted by senior paralegal Patricia Feeney.
