Porzio's Deirdre Wheatley-Liss Named Chair of Morris County Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors
The Morris County Chamber of Commerce, representing over 800 businesses in Morris County, has named Porzio's Deirdre Wheatley-Liss as Chair of its Board of Directors.
Deirdre has served on the Board of Directors since 2013 and has been an active volunteer leader to the Morris County Chamber of Commerce as former Chair of the Morris Members Counsel and advisor to the Women in Business Committee.
Deirdre is a principal of Porzio and a member of the firm's Wealth Preservation department, focusing her practice on business planning, estate planning and administration, taxation, and elder law. She also concentrates her practice on counseling closely held companies and their owners on business and tax issues, and helping individuals and families plan for their future.
Deirdre's continuous pursuit of knowledge distinguishes her from other practitioners in her fields. She has an LL.M in Taxation and is accredited as a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, designated by the American Bar Association. Through continuous legal and business education, she hones her knowledge to share "best practice" strategies with her clients.
In addition to her roles within the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, Deirdre is Vice-Chair of the Tax Steering Committee of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys , Co-Chairs the Tax, Trust, Estate and Elder Law Committee of the Morris County Bar Association, and is former President of Estate Planning Council of Northern New Jersey. She also acts as a legal advisor to several local non-profit organizations created to support various populations in New York and New Jersey.
