Samuel Buchbauer Elected to LGBT Bar NY Foundation Board of Directors
Samuel Buchbauer, an associate in Porzio, Bromberg & Newman's Wealth Preservation Group, has been elected to the Foundation Board of Directors of the LGBT Bar Association and Foundation of Greater New York (LeGaL). His appointment reflects his longstanding commitment to advancing inclusion within the legal profession and serving the LGBTQ+ community through leadership, advocacy, and education.
Founded in 1978, LeGaL is one of the nation's first organizations dedicated to LGBTQ+ legal professionals and issues. Through its Association and Foundation, the organization promotes equality under the law, provides free legal services to low-income LGBTQ+ community members, and supports the next generation of LGBTQ+ legal scholars and practitioners.
Buchbauer focuses his practice on estate planning, estate administration, and real estate matters, guiding individuals, families, executors, and trustees through asset protection, wealth preservation, and complex Surrogate's Court proceedings.
A recognized leader in the legal community, Buchbauer recently completed a three-year term as Chair of the New York State Bar Association's LGBTQ+ Law Section. During his tenure, he helped lead educational programming, policy initiatives, and efforts to foster greater accessibility and inclusion within the legal profession. He also served as Co-Chair of NYSBA's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.
As a member of the LeGaL Foundation Board, Buchbauer will help support the organization's mission to improve the administration of justice, expand access to legal services, and promote full inclusion for LGBTQ+ individuals throughout Greater New York.
