Porzio Welcomes Summer Associates Stuart Backer, Sivani Divakarla, Jessica Dufort and Michael Leon

Porzio welcomes summer associates Stuart Backer, Sivani Divakarla, Jessica Dufort and Michael Leon to the Morristown office. All four are students at Rutgers Law School – Newark, and Sivani, Jessica and Michael are members of the Minority Student Program.   
 
Stuart Backer is a rising second year law student at Rutgers School of Law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a minor in Legal Studies from the University of Delaware. Before law school, Stuart was formerly a seasonal assistant with Porzio's Tax Team. This summer, Stuart will support the firm’s Litigation Team.
 
Sivani Divakarla is a rising second year law student at Rutgers School of Law. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Analytics and Information Technology (BAIT) from Rutgers University. Sivani will support the firm’s Wealth Preservation Team’s Tax department. 
 
Jessica Dufort is a rising second year law student at Rutgers School of Law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Political Science, and a Master of Public Policy from Rutgers University.  Jessica will support the firm’s Wealth Preservation Team’s Trusts & Estates department. 
 
Michael Leon re-joins the firm as a rising third year law student at Rutgers School of Law after serving as a summer associate with Porzio's Litigation Department last year. Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Before law school, he was a Bankruptcy paralegal at the law firm of Weitz & Luxenberg.  During the 2023 Spring semester, Michael interned at the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, and in the Fall he will intern for the Honorable Jose R. Almonte, U.S. Magistrate, District of New Jersey. This summer, Michael will support the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Team.
