Gabriela M. Dávila Micheo

Counsel

Overview

With over 13 years of experience navigating the complexities of civil and employment law, Gabriela Davila Micheo provides clients with a distinct competitive advantage in complex litigation: the perspective from behind the bench. Having spent years inside the federal court system, Gabriela doesn’t just practice law — she brings a depth of litigation experience and understands the internal mechanisms of judicial decision-making, providing her clients with a “roadmap” to success in the most challenging jurisdictions.

Prior to joining Porzio, Gabriela served as a Career Law Clerk to a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. In this pivotal role, she acted as a primary advisor to the Court, shaping dispositive decisions, orders, judgments, and opinions and managing high-stakes dockets involving employment law matters, contract disputes, torts, medical malpractice, civil rights, insurance, and complex maritime matters, among other areas of civil litigation. She played a key role in procedural and case‑management strategy — experience that provides clients with valuable insight into how courts evaluate arguments, manage disputes, and make decisions.

This rare, deep-bench experience allows her to deconstruct complex legal issues and translate them into winning trial strategies. Clients value her unique ability to translate complex legal issues into practical strategies and anticipate how a judge will evaluate arguments, enabling her to mitigate risk and resolve disputes with surgical precision.

Gabriela’s private practice experience is equally formidable. She previously practiced at nationally recognized Puerto Rico law firms, defending a diverse range of clients — from local organizations to Fortune 500 companies — in high-impact litigation in federal and Puerto Rico courts against claims involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage‑and‑hour violations. Beyond the courtroom, Gabriela is a trusted advisor to executives and in-house. She provides proactive compliance and preventive counseling, reducing the likelihood of litigation and ensuring compliance with federal and Puerto Rico laws.

Whether conducting workforce audits, leading sensitive internal investigations, or defending  complex federal claims, Gabriela brings analytical precision and a business-first perspective to every engagement. With a background in international business and finance, she approaches legal challenges through a commercial lens, ensuring that strategy aligns with her clients’ operational and risk‑management objectives. Known for her energetic, collaborative style, sound judgment, and results‑driven advocacy, Gabriela delivers steady, practical counsel that clients rely on to navigate high‑stakes disputes with confidence and integrity.
